See Here: 87-Year-Old “Unicorn Woman” Who Has A 13cm Horn Growing Out Of Her Head Appeals For Help

Because of her rare condition, the old woman named Liang Xiuzhen has been dubbed as the “unicorn woman” by their village.

Around eight years ago, Liang Xiuzhen only had a black mole in the area where the horn is now growing.

According to her son Wang Zhaojun, “My mother complained about this mole-like growth on her head that itched all the time. We found ways to cure her itch using traditional Chinese medicine, and then left it be.”

But after 6 years the mole gave way and a small horn started growing from the skin.

At first, it was just about the size of the tiny finger and around an inch long but Xiuzhen accidentally broke the tiny horn last February and it began growing rapidly over the past six months.

Now it measured about 5.1 inches long. Even medical professionals were baffled by the size and appearance of her unusual growth.

“Now the horn hurts my mother and prevents her from sleeping. It also bleeds from time to time,” Zhaojun added.

Sichuan doctors diagnosed the “thing” as “cornu cutaneum” (cutaneous horn), a keratinous skin tumor that has the appearance of a horn, which can be small and benign or can be much larger and malignant.

Though the physicians can remove the tumor through surgery, Xiuzhen’s age has kept the family from letting the procedure push through.

Zhaojun explained: “My mother is old, and the horn is on her head which is a very sensitive area. I’m not confident [in the idea of] surgery.

“If something goes wrong (during surgery), it would be terrible,” he added.
