Terrible Pictures Of Rising Waters In Calgary

On June 19, 2013 Alberta, Canada, experienced heavy rainfall that results flooding described by the provincial government as the worst in Alberta's history. Four people were confirmed dead and immeasurable damage to the homes and neighbourhoods of the people caught in the flood zone. Over 100,000 people were displaced.In Calgary’s downtown, 4,000 businesses were impacted and 3,000 buildings were flooded. The flooding devastated almost all southern Alberta.flooding started in Canmore but soon affected other parts of southern Alberta, including the biggest city in the province/territory.Here is the story of the Alberta flooding of 2013, as told through 10 pictures that capture the devastation of Albertians.
